About us
Polymnia was set up in 1999, in Cortona, Tuscany, by two experienced teachers who specialised in teaching Italian as a foreign language.
The name Polymnia, a Greek word meaning "many hymns", was inspired by one of the most famous works of art in the local Etruscan Academy Museum, a slate tablet representing the Muse Polymnia.
Besides teaching Italian, our Association organises courses for teachers and other cultural activities. The school is situated in the historic centre of Cortona.
